Third Level Access

The 1916 Bursary aims to encourage participataThird Level Access addresses the need to ensure attainment of skills at higher education level for students from disadvantaged backgrounds and students with disabilities through the Student Assistance Fund and the Fund for Students with Disabilities. Supports include financial assistance to those facing economic barriers to participation and the provision of tailored accommodation and services.on and success by students who are most socio-economically disadvantaged and from groups most under-represented in higher education.

To be eligible for a 1916 Bursary, all applicants must meet, Financial, Priority Group and College Entry eligibility criteria. 

Each participating college has a limited number of bursaries which are awarded to the eligible applicants that present the greatest need.

Student Assistance Fund

The Student Assistance Fund (SAF) provides financial assistance for full-time higher education students who are experiencing financial difficulties whilst attending college. Students can apply for Student Assistance to help them with either temporary or ongoing financial difficulties.

The Fund for Students with Disabilities

The Fund for Students with Disabilities (FSD) provides services and supports to full-time students with disabilities. The Fund aims to ensure that students can participate fully in their academic programmes and are not disadvantaged by reason of a disability.
